Orvis Battenkill Bar Stock BBS Fly Reels
Using a time tested and proven disc drag, this fly fishing reel is an updated classic. The drag system comes from the economical Battenkill. The reel is ultra-lite because it is milled from bar stock aluminum (hence the name.) This reel balances particularly well on the new generations of fly rod that are extremely light, and teams well with shorter rods too And this is what a traditional trout reel is supposed to look like; although the reel is built to withstand the rigors of salt water fishing. Perhaps this reels biggest assets are what it lacks-heavy price tag or weight! Available in five sizes and two anodized finishes.
