The Orvis Battenkill Bar Stock Fly Reel has one of the most reliable drag systems of all time-the offset disc.  The BBS Reel holds a tremendous amount of backing in a compact design. This BBS size III is very versatile.  Light enough for your favorite 5 weight and stout enough for light salt water duty.  This is also a great reel for freshwater Bass fishing.  It has good backing capacity in 6 weight and 7 weight.  Because it is milled from a solid bar stock of aluminum, it is about 20% lighter than the original Battenkill reel.  Easily exchanged from left hand retrieve to right hand retrieve.
