When &
Where: The day begins promptly at 9am, but coffee, fruit and
muffins are ready by 8:30. We will meet in our fly shop for slide
shows, knot tying, ...etc. Formal instruction is usually finished
by 4pm, but remember you can practice casting till your hearts
content afterwards.
What to
expect:
Around half the day is spent outside, so be ready for weather
and sun (bring sun screen, hat, sunglasses, & windbreaker
if cool or windy). Top notch Orvis equipment is provided free
of charge, but you are welcome to use your own equipment. We
will serve a catered Bar-B-Que Lunch at
the store. This is a great time to swap fish tales and plan outings.
Who:
Our instructors are Phil and Debbie Chapman who bring with them
over 40 years of fly fishing experience. They have taught our
casting school for the last 5 years and are very knowledgeable
about Florida Fishing. They are also the friendliest people you
will ever meet. Phil is a biologist with the Florida Fish and
Wildlife Conservation Commission, and a USCG Captain and Tarpon
Guide. Phil and Debbie currently or have previously held several
World and State Records on salt water fish.
Registration:
Reservation and Deposit are required. Class sizes are limited.
Cost for the Full Day Fly Casting School is $125.
